Referee Doveri’s performance at the Gewiss Stadium in the second half of Serie A analyzed by X-ray, the Roman whistler booked two players
Born in 1977 in the Roma 1 section, referee Doveri – the choice for Atalanta-Juventus – made his debut in Serie A in March 2010 and was an international from 2018 to 2022. Among the most expert referees in our championship, last season he had a few too many ups and downs and even in his seasonal debut in Udinese-Lazio he left something to be desired. He did it again in Juve-Napoli, Genoa-Bologna and Cagliari-Inter, his last match in Serie A but how did the Lazio referee fare yesterday?

The referee cautioned two players
Assisted by assistants Carbone and Costanzo with Rapuano IV man, Marini at the Var and Chiffi at the Avarthe referee booked two players: Kolasinac, Mbangula.
Atalanta-Juventus, the slow-motion cases
These are the dubious episodes of the race. At 23′ Atalanta protests for a handball by Locatelli in the area, checked by the VAR who reviews the images: the handball is not considered punishable by a penalty kick as the touch is involuntary and rather close. In the 42nd minute there was a clash between Kolasinac and McKennie who received an elbow and remained on the ground. The Juventus medical staff intervened to treat the American midfielder on the pitch but for Doveri everything was fine. In the 50th minute, Kalulu’s header touches the post, the line, and then Carnesecchi avoids the ball entering by a matter of millimetres. Goal-line technology confirms: no goals.
In the 56th minute a great insertion into the penalty area by Kalulu who passes Carnesecchi and makes it 1-0. His starting position is regular. In the 74th minute Kolasinac was booked (it would have been the second yellow card). He was warned by a booking and will miss Napoli-Atalanta. In the 86th minute the newly substitute Mbangula knocks out an opponent thrown towards the Juventus penalty area. Duties draws the yellow card. After injury time Atalanta-Juventus ends 1-1.
