She was 21 years old and he was 60, when Danil, when Abbé Pierre, during a trip to Bangladesh, subjected her to touching “ on intimate spaces »forcibly kisses her and forces her to watch a masturbation scene. At 73, she is today one of nine new people accusing the man of the Church in a new report from Egaé published on January 13.

Their stories, which will be the subject of the next special correspondent broadcast, are added to the 24 others already made public in the two previous reports on the subject published by this independent firm commissioned by Emmaüs. They all concern facts which “took place from the 1960s to the 2000s, most of the time in and sometimes abroad”.

Priest accused of “incestuous abuse”

Among these new complaints are new profiles. The priest finds himself, for example, accused of“incestuous abuse”a young girl member of his family having indicated that she had suffered “ sexual contact on her breasts and mouth in the late 90s ». Also for the first time, a minor boy at the time of the events, gives the story of a “penetrative sexual act”.

Beyond these cases, the people who testify range from “employee of a hotel in which she stayed » Abbot Pierre, to “caregivers working in hospitals” where he was hospitalized, to a volunteer for a youth camp or a humanitarian mission, to a flight attendant. They concern minors, as well as adults, and extend over the entire life of the abbot.

The report also highlights the behavior of the priest to prevent his victims from testifying. He evokes the “establishment of mechanisms to silence victims, in particular through threatening comments or behavior”.

To support it, he publishes as an appendix a letter from the priest to dissuade a father from filing a complaint, or the story of this victim who remembers: “He tells me that he is very powerful, that people love him, that we should never, ever talk about what just happened to anyone, that people would not believe me and that I I'd be in big trouble if I talked about it. »

At the initiative of these revelations, Emmaüs calls for us to face them… “ All of this put together paints the portrait of a predator who commits extremely serious things. It's a term that must be accepted because I believe that it is reality » told Le Parisien its president, Tarek Daher, the general delegate of Emmaüs France.

He also calls on the organization to reconsider its own blindness. “ Everyone agrees that given the scale, the seriousness, the mechanisms, the locations, yes, people probably knew about us. We must now understand how such an omerta can be put in place. »

Before leaving, one last thing…
