Generally speaking, Météo France forecasts mixed weather across the country this Monday with “cold and anticyclonic conditions” setting in at the start of the week.
While freezing fogs are to be noted at the start of the day, the sun should set in for the rest of the day, particularly during the afternoon despite a “light veil of cloud arriving in the northwest.”
In terms of temperatures, “we noted -7 to -3°C from the North-East to the South-West, -7 to -10°C in Auvergne, -4 to 1°C in the North-West. -9.9°C was recorded in Luxeuil-les-Bains in Haute-Saône, while around thirty departments are on extreme cold yellow alert.
Along the Mediterranean, temperatures remain positive. In the afternoon, the weather remains cold with 0 to 5°C in general, 8 to 16°C around the Mediterranean and in Corsica.” Between Corsica and the continent, the northeast wind remains between 70 and 90 km/h.
