Fans are rediscovering two underrated Guy Ritchie action Movies on Prime Video. 2021’s Wrath of Man, starring Jason Statham, and Henry Cavill’s The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfarewhich debuted last year, have found success on the streaming platform.
The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare and Wrath of Man are currently on Prime Video’s Top 10 most-watched movie list for January 12. Per FlixPatrol, the Ritchie films occupy the ninth and tenth spots, respectively. Movies in the Top 5 are Your faultDwayne Johnson’s Christmas movie Red One, Blame Mia, Knox Goes Awayand The Idea of You. Statham, who had a stellar 2024 with the successful release and positive reception of The Beekeeperhas a second movie higher up Prime Video’s list. His 2023 sequel movie Meg 2: The Trench is sixth on the list, with Upgraded and Classified rounding out the platform’s top eight films.

In Wrath of Man, Statham plays H, a mysterious vengeance-seeking newly-employed cash truck driver with an impressive skill set. The movie, which marked Ritchie’s fourth collaboration with the action movie icon, also stars Holt McCallany, Jeffrey Donovan, Chris Reilly, Josh Hartnett, Laz Alonso, Raúl Castillo, DeObia Oparei, Eddie Marsan and Scott Eastwood. Wrath of Man debuted to mixed reviews but was successful at the box office, making $104 million worldwide against a $40 million budget.
The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare suffered the opposite fate. Although the movie received mostly positive reviews from critics, it was a box-office bomb, eking out a measly $27 million against a $60 million budget. Based on Damien Lewis’ 2014 book Churchill’s Secret Warriors: The Explosive True Story of the Special Forces Desperadoes of WWIIthe film stars Cavill as Gus March-Phillipps, who leads a group of Nazi-hating misfits on an impossible but pivotal WWII mission. Eiza González, Babs Olusanmokun, Alan Ritchson, Henry Golding, Alex Pettyfer, Hero Fiennes Tiffin, Freddie Fox, and Rory Kinnear as Winston Churchill, are part of the movie’s ensemble.

Another Guy Ritchie Action Movie Will Debut This Year

Thor‘s Natalie Portman will co-star in The Fountain of Youthwhich tells the story of two estranged siblings, who reunite in search of the mythical spring.
