This Saturday, at the Meeting Mário Moniz Pereira, Algarve athlete Gerson Baldé secured qualification for the next European indoor track and field athletics championship, which will take place in the Netherlands in March.
In the test held at the Centro de Alto Rendimento do Jamor, organized by the Lisbon Athletics Association, the athlete from Albufeira reached the mark of 8.11 meters in the long jump.
This record guaranteed the classification of 24-year-old Gerson Baldé for the 38th edition of the European Indoor Championships, which take place between March 6th and 9th, in Apeldoorn, in the Netherlands.
Isaac Nader from Algarve (1,500 meters) is also qualified for the main continental short track race.
