The numbers of Venezia and Inter
L’Inter have won all of their last three matches against Venezia in Serie A and only once did they achieve four consecutive successes against the Orange-greens in the top division: a series of five between November 1962 and January 1999. Inter scored 51 goals in the 27 games played against Venezia in Serie A; only against Juventus (54) have the lagoon players conceded more goals than against the Nerazzurri in the top league (51 also against Milan). After Inter’s 2-0 success at the Penzo on 27 November 2021, Venezia could suffer two home defeats in a row against the Nerazzurri in the top flight for only the second time in their history after the period between 1963 and 1967 ( exactly two in that case). Furthermore, only once did the Orange-Greens fail to score in two home matches in a row against the Lombard club in the tournament: a 0-0 draw and a 0-2 defeat between 1941 and 1943. Il Venezia has remained undefeated in the last three matches at Penzo in the championship (1W, 2D), the lagoon players have no longer recorded home matches in a row without defeat in Serie A since the period between October and December 2001, four with Giuseppe Iachini as coach. Inter have won all of their last five league matches, conceding just one goal (19-1 overall score) and has not lined up consecutive victories in Serie A since the period between January and March 2024 (10 in that case). Instead, it is since December 2023 the Nerazzurri have not collected four consecutive clean sheets in the tournament. Inter is, with Juventus, only one of the two teams not to have lost away yet in this championship; the Nerazzurri have won all of their last five away games without conceding a goal (the total score is 18-0) and could score six wins in a row in Serie A with a clean sheet attached away from home for the first time in their history. Inter have always won the first match of the calendar year in the league in the last five years and have never achieved six victories in a row in this type of match in the history of the single-group Serie A (since 1929/30).
