Health authorities in Los Angeles on Saturday warned residents of the health risks resulting from smoke from the widespread forest fires that destroyed vast areas of the California city and urged them to stay in their homes.
Massive fires are sweeping the second largest city in the United States, emitting toxic clouds into the air. Anish Mahajan of the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health said in a press conference, “We are all facing wildfire smoke, which is a mixture of small particles, gases and water vapors.”
