The suspense remains for victory!

The suspense remains for victory!

Even if Charlie Dalin, who is slowly approaching the finish, still occupies the lead in the Vendée Globe on the 63rd day of racing, the suspense remains intact since Yoann Richomme, despite his setback on Friday, continues to eat away at his delay, after this Sunday morning under 135 miles.

Charlie Dalin was right. “I know that he will not give up anything, nothing, nothing at all,” skipper Macif Santé Prévoyance recently confided, speaking of Yoann Richomme (Paprec-Arkéa), who continued to follow him. The runner-up to Yannick Bestaven during the last edition of the Vendée Globe did not think he was saying that well. And while the race began its 63rd day on Sunday, the suspense remains intact, in the same way that it still seems impossible to ensure that Dalin will enter his name on the list for the first time within two or three days during the finish while he still occupies the lead and heads straight towards Les Sables d’Olonne.

Everything remains possible for Richomme!

Not only does Richomme, who experienced damage to his front sail on Friday, continue to chip away at his delay, but the gap between these two men, already certain of breaking the slimmest margin between first and second (in addition to the record of the crossing) had also never been so weak in a long time. This Sunday, at the first score, Richomme had returned to less than 135 miles (133.40) of the leader. The double winner of the Solitaire du Figaro and the Route du Rhum can therefore dream more than ever of beating his rival to the post. Even more so knowing that the two navigators will very quickly come up against unpredictable maritime traffic which could completely reshuffle the cards.
