It was a hard-fought match between the Granata and the Bianconeri, with nerves on edge, with the two coaches Vanoli and Thiago Motta jostling on the sidelines at the start of the second half and being sent off.
In the 94th minute, at the final whistle, Toro smiled more, while Juve was challenged by the visitors. Vanoli confirms the new 4-2-3-1 with Adams as an advanced player supported by Lazaro, Vlasic and Karamoh, with captain Ricci in midfield together with Linetty in front of the back four formed by Vojvoda, Maripan, Coco and Sosa. Thiago Motta comes to the derby with 15 outfield players and chooses Nico Gonzalez as Vlahovic’s replacement, while Koopmeiners (chosen as captain) plays the attacking midfielder between Yildiz and Mbangula. Douglas Luiz is back in midfield, McKennie is still at left back with Kalulu and Gatti as the central pair. It’s a city match that begins amid tensions, on and off the pitch: the Juventus bus and a plain-clothes police car are damaged by the throwing of objects upon arrival at the stadium, after just two minutes there are already sparks lit from Vojvoda and McKennie which also involve the benches.
Juve keeps control of the game and is already ahead in the 8th minute, with Yildiz surprising Milinkovic-Savic at the near post after a serpentine between three grenades. In the Marathon the banners are removed to protest against the Daspo measures arrived in the last few hours due to the clashes that date back to the first leg match, in the stands there are chants and taunts for President Cairo, invited to sell the grenade by the fans and to stay by the Juventus fans . The start of the second half is also high tension, Vanoli and Thiago Motta come into contact on the sideline and referee Fabbri decides to show the red card for both.
-Deputies Godinho and Hugeux make the first changes, Pedersen and Tameze enter Toro and Juve responds with Weah and Cambiaso. The Bianconeri are more dangerous, Milinkovic-Savic makes up for the 0-1 mistake with a clearance on Koopmeiners and above all with a leap on Nico Gonzalez. In the final, however, it was Toro who looked for the coup, the Granata closed with nine corner kicks (to one) without however managing to scare Di Gregorio. The Mole derby ends at 1-1, one of the most closely contested derby matches of the recent past: Ricci and his teammates take the applause of their fans, while the Bianconeri are invited to show off their attributes. The point, in fact, makes the Juventus Bull happier, who now risk losing further ground from the Champions League zone and collecting their 12th draw in 19 days.
