“I continue and I will continue,” promises Iranian Narges Mohammadi, provisionally released

The Iranian activist and journalist was temporarily released at the beginning of December, notably after the removal of a tumor. But his fate remains uncertain.

For 26 years, Iranian Narges Mohammadi has been serving prison sentences. Temporarily released from prison for medical reasons, the 2023 Nobel Peace Prize winner, however, assures that she will continue her fight, Wednesday January 8 on France Inter. “I have been arrested thirteen times in recent years, I have been tried nine times and I have cases that are pending, for which I will have other trials”she mentioned.

“The Islamic Republic did not just deprive me of my civil rights. It tried to silence me by putting me in prison,” added the activist who received the Nobel Peace Prize last year for her fight against the oppression of women in Iran and for the promotion of human rights.

Narges Mohammadi fights against the compulsory wearing of the veil and for women's rights. “I do not fear these consequences. I continue and I will continue”declares the activist.
