*Tourist activity continues, the result of Evelyn Salgado's promotion strategy

Acapulco, Gro., January 3, 2025.- In reporting that Acapulco receives the first of four cruise ships that will arrive at the port in January 2025, the head of the State Tourism Secretariat, Simón Quiñones Orozco, pointed out that today Guerrero reflects an important tourist activity resulting from the promotion carried out by Governor Evelyn Salgado Pineda.
Quiñones Orozco said that this boat from Puerto Quetzal Guatemala complements all the tourist activity that has taken place during the winter vacation season, which has been very positive.
He explained that during the reception for cruise passengers led by the Undersecretary of Tourism Planning, Rosy Pavón, and the Tourist Assistance Attorney, Luis Pineda, the Sectur Guerrero welcomed them with traditional dances of the entity.
The cruise ship flying the Marshall Islands flag will depart at 5:00 p.m. to Cabo San Lucas. During the time the passengers will remain, it is estimated to generate an economic benefit of approximately 71 thousand dollars.
The state official endorsed continuing to work together to exceed the capacity to receive tourists in Acapulco, both in terms of hotels and second homes.

“The results of this season have been surpassed in all the destinations of Guerrero, this as part of the strategy promoted by the governor in the destinations and the excellent coordination with the municipalities and representatives of the tourism sector,” he stressed.
He commented that in Zihuatanejo the number of passengers who arrived by air was exceeded, 672 thousand in 2024 and by 2025 it is expected to break a record with 700 thousand.
In addition, tourist destinations in La Unión and Costa Chica showed a large influx of visitors.
“Tourist activity in Guerrero is very important, not only in Acapulco, which is the main destination, but in all the destinations of El Hogar del Sol.
Simón Quiñones assured that by 2025 the tourist agenda will be reinforced, which already has a schedule of events for the month of January and February that will soon be announced.
“The governor has instructed us to continue with the reactivation and strengthen the lineup of events that we are already coordinating; In addition, sporting events are included in conjunction with CONADE and the Federal Tourism Secretariat that will reinforce this promotion strategy for Guerrero tourist destinations,” he pointed out.
Finally, the secretary said that, given the success of the fireworks gala, the governor has instructed to include other destinations with a tourist vocation by 2025.
