Clouds and a few drops are still present in the East and to a lesser extent in the North-East at daybreak. Conversely, this morning, Thursday January 16, 2025, is bright from Saint-Denis to Saint-Pierre via Saint-Leu. In the afternoon, the highs become cloudy except for the peaks. Light showers are forecast. Temperatures remain high.

As expected, last night, the East and North of the island were rained. Météo-France La Réunion noted: “20.4 mm at Gillot, 27.4 mm at Bras-Pistolet, 13.7 mm at Salazie, 18.9 mm at Baril, 2 mm at Port, 3.6 mm at Saint-Leu, 2.2 mm at Maïdo and 3.2 mm at Bellecombe-Jacob.” The ground remained dry on the southwest quarter of the island.
This Thursday morning, small scattered showers continue on the windward coast, while the sun is already well established on the leeward coast. As in previous days, the slopes become covered throughout the morning.
At the beginning of the afternoon, the clouds have settled along the slopes, but the sun does not completely disappear from the cirques and the interior. A few drops are expected on the Tampon side, in the heights of Saint-Leu and showers cannot be ruled out on the heights of the capital or towards Takamaka.
The northeast flow remains moderate, despite a drop in intensity noted by forecasters. Gusts should not exceed 50 to 60 km/h, from Saint-Denis to Pointe-des-Galets as well as towards Saint-Philippe.
High temperatures continue. They reach, at most, 31°C in Saint-Philippe, 32 along the east coast, 33 in Saint-Denis, Le Port and 34°C at the edge of the Ermitage lagoon such as at Étang-Salé or Saint-Pierre. This observation applies to the cirques (28 to 31°C) and to the Maïdo or Pas de Bellecombre-Jacob side with 23°C.
The sea is rough in all areas.
