“There are trials that nothing can prepare for, trials that turn everything upside down and transform us forever.”
The singer Sheryfa Luna reveals having given birth to her third child, stillborn, in a poignant text published this Friday on Instagram.
“On November 17, I gave birth to Khalil in freezing silence. No cry, no breathing. My son was already gone. That day, I discovered a pain that no words can truly describe : giving life and having to say goodbye in the same moment.”
“You are not alone”
The 35-year-old artist, known since her victory on the show “Pop stars” in 2007, modestly details the “bataille” that she has been delivering since that traumatic moment.
“A few days [après la naissance]I had to accompany Khalil to his final resting place, an act so heartbreaking that no mother should have to experience it. (…) Khalil existed. He marked my life and transformed my soul forever. I am no longer who I was before him. He taught me strength in fragility, love in absence, and the beauty of a bond that transcends time.”
The interpreter of “He had the words”, already mother of Venus Junior born to a denial of pregnancy in 2008 and Ibrahim born in 2015, comes out of silence to send a message “to all those who go through invisible, silent trials”: “I mean you’re not alone.”
In France in 2021, for every 1,000 live births, fewer than two children die before reaching their first week, according to INSEE data.
