Everything is falling into place for the arrival of Brice Samba in Rennes, with a move made in Lens to let the French international leave.
RC Lens understood that it would not be possible to keep Brice Samba, wanting a change of scenery in the face of the declining performances of the “Blood and Gold”. Especially since the Stade Rennais woos him with an ambitious project even if the results are not there this season. And the prospect of being number 1 because Jorge Sampaoli is absolutely not banking on Steve Mandanda, and the starting place is therefore hot. But until now, RC Lens was clearly slowing down for the departure of Samba. This will no longer be the case soon since Foot Mercato announces that an agreement is very close between the northern club and Royal Antwerp for the signing of Jean Butez.
The former LOSC goalkeeper will make the short journey between the two countries for 3 million euros. The French goalkeeper will sign until June 2028 with RC Lens, and will compete with Hervé Koffi. For his part, Brice Samba will thus be released to join Rennes, as part of a transfer worth 15 million euros. This will allow Lens to achieve a very good financial deal, the goalkeeper formerly with OM having been recruited for 5 ME from Nottingham Forest.
