The period of calm ended this Thursday with the return of the rain. The wind is also present in the territory as is the snow in the mountains and on the northeastern plains.
This Thursday, the deterioration will spread over 3/4 of the country before this evening while fairly strong winds will blow over a large part of the country. Sustained rain is also expected in the central regions while the northwest will experience nice clearing at the end of the afternoon, forecasts La Chaîne Météo*.
The disturbance progresses in the afternoon
After a rainy morning, the disturbance continues to progress and stretches from northern Aquitaine to the Grand Est with rain and wind. The rain/snow limit drops quickly to around 500 meters at the end of the afternoon in the Center-East. It also snows in Alsace and Lorraine. Be careful on mountainous roads with snow on the ground. The sky will become cloudy from the Aquitaine basin to the central Alps with the arrival of rain around 5 p.m. On the Mediterranean, the weather is variable, with showers affecting Corsica and Provence. Temperatures range from 3 to 7°C north of the Loire and from 13 to 15°C near the Mediterranean.
-A chilly evening
Be careful in the Center-East where snow will fall in the evening as well as in the Morvan, the Vosges and the Jura. In the Grand-Est, icy formation is expected in cooled air. In the southwest, it rains lightly while the weather remains dry near the Mediterranean except in Provence and Corsica. Over a good northern and western half of the country, the weather becomes dry.
