The alleged victims described acts of a racist nature. Two sisters were allegedly attacked by several individuals on the night of December 26, while they were traveling on Boulevard du BAB, between and . On social networks, one of them mentions a racist insult, “dirty black”, beatings and throwing tear gas. Kontseilu Sozialista organized a rally to give them support, on Tuesday, December 31, at the Carreau des Halles, in Bayonne, at 12 p.m.

The movement also notes an increase in stickers with far-right slogans and calls not to leave “these acts unanswered”. The alleged victims of the attack do not want to, and no longer have, to let the matter go unanswered. Janice Froidefond, the older sister, claims to have filed a complaint. “A complaint was indeed taken by the Bayonne police station in connection with the facts, confirms the deputy public prosecutor of Bayonne, the requisitions for the purposes of exploiting the video surveillance have been launched and the investigations are continuing in order to identify the author(s). » At this stage, the prosecution cannot comment on the characterization of the offenses reported.

According to Janice Froidefond's account, they were attacked on a public highway, while the two groups of people were traveling in their respective vehicles. It all started when she threw a cigarette butt out of her car window. Lively exchanges between the occupants of the two vehicles followed, then tear gas and shots were fired. “After hitting me he left with my car keys,” says the young woman. The one who struck was said to be of “athletic build”, he was driving a metallic gray Mercedes, registered 64, and his comrades called him “Flo”.
