Scott Williams Most 180s in Ricardo Pietreczko

Time: Saturday 28th December at 14:00

Williams is the naturally bigger 180 hitter, his seasonal stats show that he hits them at 0.27 per leg, Pietreczko, in comparison, hits them at a rate of 0.15 per leg.

In his last match against Gian Van Veen, Pietreczko hit 2 across the first 2 legs and couldn’t add to his tally any more. The opposite was true for Williams, he didn’t hit any until the 8th leg and ended up amassing 4 maximums.

Across the last 2 years at Ally Pally. Williams has hit 56 180’s in 170 legs of darts, 0.31 per leg. Meanwhile, across the last two World Championships, Pietreczko has hit 17 180’s  in 82 legs of darts, 0.21 per leg.

Over 5.5 Sets in Nathan Aspinall v Andrew Gilding

Time: Saturday 28th December at 15:15

Aspinall found his match against Leonard Gates a slog in the opening round. He struggled to get on top for a long part of that match before running out a 3-1 winner.

Gilding, like Gates, is a dogged competitor and will play his own game. This may not be an exciting affair. Both players lost a set in their opening matches, winning 3-1, and neither are in the kind of form where you’d expect them to blitz their opponent.

Gilding managed to take a set off Littler last year in defeat and Aspinall’s record at this stage reads: 4-1, 4-3, 2-4, 0-4, 3-4. His defeat to Rydz aside in 2022, games at this stage are never straightforward and rarely end in a whitewash.

Gilding returned to the World Championship in 2023 after a 5 year hiatus. His matches since then have been 3-2, 1-3, 1-3 and 3-1. Once again showing a proclivity to be involved in tight matches.

They haven’t met this year but their two meetings in 2023 were close. Aspinall winning both by score lines of 6-4 and 6-5.
