STREAMING bosses have green-lit the newest action thriller for a second series after achieving a near-perfect Rotten Tomatoes score.
Bosses at Hulu in the US and Prime Video UK have officially handed Paris Has Fallen another mission.
The series, which dropped here in November, is a TV spin-off from the blockbuster Has Fallen movie franchise starring Gerard Butler.
Paris Has Fallen’s eight-episode first series was co-produced by Butler’s company G-Base and StudioCanal.
Tewfik Jallab, Ritu Arya and Sean Harris led the cast, though execs have yet to reveal whether they’ll return.
Insiders say production on the second instalment will kick off in 2025 with filming set to begin in Spring.
While fans had speculated on a potential new backdrop to the series, locations in Paris have been booked for filming – as well as Wales here in the UK.
Series one saw a terrorist attack on the British Embassy in Paris.
As a result, Defence Minister Philippe Bardin’s protection officer teams up with an MI6 operative team to combat a large conspiracy gripping the capital.
Paris Has Fallen earned an average rating of 91% on critic website Rotten Tomatoes for its debut.
Its renewal comes after a tough year for big-budget shows, with Netflix axing Kaos after one series in a shock to fans.
Netflix fans around the world also let out a collective cry of sadness when supernatural series Dead Boy Detectives was canned.
