Cecilia Sala, 29 years old, stopped in Tehran on December 19th, collaborates as a freelance journalist with the Sheet and is the author and voice of the well-known podcast Storiesby Chora Media, in which a story from the world is told.
Just a few days before the arrest, on December 16, Cecilia Sala had published a podcast entitled A conversation about patriarchy in Tehranin which he talks about his conversation with a 21-year-old Iranian, Diba, and the new hijab law.
Sala has also published reports on The Express, Vanity Fair e Wired and followed the crisis in Venezuela, the protests in Chile and the fall of Kabul into the hands of the Taliban in August 2021. He also closely followed the evolution of the war in Ukraine.
He also worked in the editorial offices of Vice e Public Service.

Among Cecilia Sala’s publications: Dust. The Marta Russo case (Mondadori) written together with Chiara Lalli and The fire. Reportage on a generation between Iran, Ukraine and Afghanistan (Mondadori).
The studies
From 2014 to 2018 he attended Bocconi University in Milan, then interrupting his studies a few months before obtaining his degree.
