West Ham United 1-1 Brighton Hove Albion
Fabianski: 6 Excellent save from Mitoma on 21 mins. Weak goalkeeping for Brighton’s goal early in the second half. Good save on 65 mins. Saved West Ham a point with a 93rd min save.
Wan Bissaka: 8 Stopped a Brighton counter with a good piece of one on one defending. All action as always. Heroic defending with an outstanding goal-line clearance in the 95th min which denied Hove Albion a winner.
Mavropanos: 6 Excellent chipped ball forward set up Bowen for a chance. Made made a well timed tackle on 32 mins which started a good counter attack. Incorrectly given a yellow card. True to form, Dinos made an error just before half time and The Seagull’s should have scored.
Kilman: 7 His sense of danger snuffed out a good chance for the away team midway through the first half. Almost badly injured following an awful challenge.
Emerson:4 Good pull-back for Paqueta but mostly quiet. Lost the ball in the 52nd minute and made the most half baked attempt at a jog to help his teammates as Brighton countered.
Alvarez:7 Constantly dropped in between Dinos & Kilman. Caught out dwelling on the ball but recovered well to regain possession. Some good defensive interceptions. Forced a great save on 86 mins with a good curling shot.
Soucek:7 The usual. Soucek worked his sock off. His pass to Bowen before the equaliser was telling.
Paqueta:6 Has a great instinct of how to win a foul when his team are in trouble. Oddly, the Brazilian seemed to lose interest after half an hour. Shot well over from 15 yards.
Bowen:8 Looked threatening immediately finding space between full back and central defender. Right foot shot was deflected just wide. West Ham’s biggest attacking threat.
West Ham 1-1 Brighton: Bowen went close following a good pass from Mavropanos
Holy:6 Looked frustrated to begin with and was pretty ineffective in the first half. Not a left winger. Immediate impact after his switch to the right hand side when he followed up Bowen’s shot to score the equaliser. Different player on the right wing which brings his left foot shot into play.
Fullkrug:4 Making his first Premier League start for the Hammers. A couple of occasions early on he was absent from the box when West Ham were in good crossing positions. Won a few headers in wide areas but disappointed with his positioning.
Substitutes:
Todibo:6 Replaced Mavropanos at half time. Immediately forced into action with a clearance.
Summerville:6 Replaced Fullkrug after 56 mins with The Hammers 1-0 down. Dispossessed BHA defender and should have done better following a good run.
He backed off: 6 Replaced the Emerson and not a moment too soon.
Scarles:5 70th min swap for Paqueta. Got into an excellent position and should have shot. Was given a hard task as Minteh caused huge problems.
Rodriguez: 89th min sub for Alvarez.
