Philippe Clement’s side will be keen to respond after last Sunday’s defeat on penalties in the League Cup Final. Trips to face St Mirren and Dundee follow before the next Old Firm derby on January 2nd.

Our writers take a closer look at the team he could pick tomorrow below.

Clement, once again, has plenty of options available to him when it comes to his team selection for the visit of Dundee.

The Belgian confirmed Oscar Cortes would be part of the matchday squad and it would be a welcome sight to see the Colombian make his return from injury although he’ll start from the bench.

In the backline, Dujon Sterling should be knocking on the door for a starting berth. He performed well at centre-back when he replaced Leon Balogun in Sunday’s League Cup final and it would be tempting to start him there either beside Balogun or Robin Propper.

Ridvan had a difficult afternoon at Hampden but the manager may just start the left-back in an attempt to get him back focused on the job in hand.

The only other alterations may see Danilo return to replace Hamza Igamane up top with Ianis Hagi, Nedim Bajrami and Vaclav Cerny providing the supporting cast.

Clement will be looking for a performance full of energy given his squad have been handed a rare midweek off. With that in mind, it makes sense for the Rangers boss to stick with the front four that impressed in recent wins over Kilmarnock and Ross County.

Danilo, Igamane and Hagi may start as the No.10, No.9 and left-winger on the teamsheet but in those two performances, they rotated up a position on the ball. Often leaving Igamane attacking from a favoured left channel, Danilo linking play and occupying the box with Hagi adding finesse from wide and central areas.

Given the amount of football Baloun will be required to play in cthe oming weeks, and because of Propper’s strong recent run of form, now feels like a good time to hand Sterling minutes in the centre with Souttar out for a number of weeks.

Jefte should continue at left-back with a midfield partnership of Diomande and Raskin given another runout.
