At the heart of this affair, a story of a stay of several days in a luxurious suite in a hotel located in Ngaparou, a coastal town in the west of the country.
“The Ngaparou Proximity Brigade referred the Congolese businessman, Francis Mvemba, to the Mbour public prosecutor’s office yesterday Wednesday.
This former candidate for the Congolese presidential election in 2018 is being prosecuted for accommodation and food fraud involving 2.7 million CFA francs according to exclusive information from Seneweb. reported the Senegalese media Seneweb.
The affair broke out when the owner of the hotel where Francis Mvemba had stayed filed a complaint against him.
Selon Seneweb, “It appears from his testimony that Francis Mvemba stayed in the “Villa Petit Paradis” between November 26 and December 17.
The politician was staying in a suite with a private pool before moving to another with a bathtub. In total, the costs amount to the sum of 3,623,000 CFA francs, according to the complainant.
Against all expectations, Francis Mvemba only paid an advance of 900,000 CFA francs. Despite multiple reminders made by the hotel owner, the accused did not pay the remainder, estimated at more than 2.7 million CFA francs.
Exasperated, the owner of the establishment ended up taking the matter to the competent courts.
According to the same source, the accused admitted the facts with which he is accused and requested an extension to pay the money owed.
But he would have been referred and placed under arrest warrant.
