The authorities are calling for vigilance until the situation improves.

Storm Dioniso crosses the south-east of France, bringing difficult weather conditions. From 4 a.m. this Friday, Météo France placed Bouches-du-Rhône on yellow alert and Corsica on orange alert due to violent gusts. Winds reach up to 110 km/h in the areas of Salon-de-Provence, Étang de Berre and , while Corsica faces even more intense squalls, particularly affecting the reliefs and the coastline.

Faced with this phenomenon, the prefectures of the departments concerned have put in place traffic restrictions from 10 p.m. this Thursday. Speeds on the motorways crossing Bouches-du-Rhône and (A7,A8,A50,A51,A52,A54,A55,A57,A570) are lowered by 20 km/h. Heavy goods vehicles weighing more than 7.5 tonnes, which are particularly sensitive to side winds, must not exceed 70 km/h.

In Corsica, placed on orange alert, residents are asked to avoid unnecessary travel, especially in exposed areas where branches and various objects could be thrown. “These violent winds present a real danger for the stability of vehicles and the safety of users.», underline the prefectures.
