Consequence, the condition of the roads is degradedthis Friday, December 20 when you wake up, mainly in the upper cantons, where between 5 and 40 centimeters of fresh snow may have fallen depending on the sector. Puymorens and access to Andorra remain, as often, the most affected.

The South-West Roads Department (DIRSO) also indicates that winter equipment (chains, socks, snow tires) is mandatory for motorists who use the RN 320 from Latour-de-Carol, then the RN 22to Pas de la Casa.

Elsewhere in Cerdagne and Haut-Conflent, equipment is also mandatory on:

• The RD 618, between the Super U roundabout of Egat and Targasonne
• The RD10F between Font-Romeu and Egat
• The RD 29 between the crossing of the RD 66 and Col Rigat
• The RD 33 between the Col de la Perche and Eyne
• The RD 6 between Py and the Col de Mantet
• The RD 14 between Mosset and Col de Jau

The situation is slightly more favorable in Capcir, where the roads are “partially snow-covered” and traffic deemed “delicate”. Winter equipment is not obligatory but remains strongly recommended indicates Inforoute 66.

The situation should improve over time. Be careful, however, temperatures will remain negative throughout the day, with around -5°C in the upper cantons, and will drop to -10°C next night. The risk of icy conditions will be very high.
