In connection with the “Dionisio” depression, underway in the Gulf of Genoa, a violent wind is expected to blow around Corsica during the night of Thursday to Friday December 20. The island has therefore been placed on orange alert, by Météo- services, from 2 a.m. this Friday and until 2 p.m., at least.

180 km/h on Cap Corse

Gusts of 90 to 100 km/h are expected to blow over a large part of the island, 120 to 140 km/h are expected in Balagne and 180 km/h on Cap Corse. The wind is expected to turn to the north-northwest on Friday December 20, 2024 at daybreak, with violent gusts close to 100 to 120 km/h sweeping all coastal areas, usually little affected. The -Toulon line of Corsica Ferries leaves at 6:30 pm instead of 7:30 pm

Road transport

Due to the weather alert, intercity passenger transport will be canceled tomorrow, Friday December 20.
