Lille metro: left-wing elected officials in the metropolis demand “real financial compensation” for users

They are not satisfied with the response from the general director of Keolis Métropole. Elected officials from the left-wing group MDS (Sustainable and Solidarity Metropolis) denounce, in a press release, a “degraded situation which continues”, a “catastrophe” in the Lille metro.

On Wednesday, the boss of Keolis Lille Métropole, which manages public transport in the metropolis, Franck Garçon, confirmed that there would be no financial compensation other than free V’Lille for a year for subscribers. , i.e. a commercial gesture of €27 whose total cost is estimated at €100,000. “This compensation (…) proves to be totally insufficient in view of the degraded quality of the service provided and the damaging consequences for public transport users in the European metropolis of Lille”, estimates in a press release, Audrey Linkenheld, president of the MDS political group, which co-leads the metropolis with Damien Castelain’s group as well as right-wing and Macronist groupss. In passing, it scratches the management of Keolis : “After vain promises from the concessionaire of a return to normal first for All Saints’ Day then for the end-of-year holidays, it is clear that the General Director of Kéolis obscures the reality which is visible every day and refuses always any accommodation and compensation”.

At least partial free for 1 month

The MDS group therefore formulates compensation proposals for all Ilévia subscribers, giving priority to the most modest with reduction of the subscriber rate from 10 to 17€ for a minimum monthwhich amounts to completely free for subscribers benefiting from the lowest social pricing (up to the family quotient QF 3). The cost of the measure is estimated between 1.5 and 2.3 million euros. This proposal will be presented at the metropolitan council, Friday, December 20. In addition, a user demonstration, called by the MobiLille association, is planned in front of the headquarters of the metropolis, the same day, at 4 p.m., avenue du Président Hoover.
