After the emergency installation of 10 staples, Gianluigi Donnarumma’s face was stitched up to “protect” his injury. The Italian goalkeeper, already out of the Coupe de France match against Lens, must undergo additional checks this Thursday.
Images of his large scar on his face made the rounds on social networks. Violently hit in the face by Wilfried Singo during the Ligue 1 match between Monaco and PSG on Wednesday evening (4-2 victory for PSG, 16th day), Gianluigi Donnarumma had 10 staples urgently applied in the minutes that followed his shock with the Monegasque defender.

Package for the Coupe de France against Lens
After this first intervention, the Italian goalkeeper’s face was stitched up to “protect” his injury. This Thursday afternoon, Donnarumma will be subject to additional checks. His withdrawal for the 32nd final of the Coupe de France in Lens this Sunday evening (9 p.m.) is confirmed. This unavailability could be prolonged depending on the medical results of the day.
This Wednesday evening, PSG indicated that Donnarumma was “a victim of facial trauma with multiple wounds”. The capital club specified that its goalkeeper had to “remain inactive for several days”.
After the match, Singo came to apologize to Donnarumma. The two players exchanged a few words and the Parisian goalkeeper, smiling despite the impressive scars of the injury on his right cheek, forgives him. “Everything is fine, calm down,” the Italian whispers to him in a sequence broadcast by PSG on X.
