The Ministry of Higher Education and Research unveiled last Thursday, December 12, the new features of the Parcoursup platform for the year 2025. With more intuitive tools and more detailed data, the postbac orientation platform hopes this year to respond to the expectations of high school students and their families in terms of clarity and accessibility.

“ID card” sheets for each training course

Parcoursup will now offer a summary view of training courses using “identity cards”. These bring together the essential training information in a single space:

  • the status of the establishment (public or private);
  • the selective nature or not of the training;
  • the number of places available in the training;
  • l’eligibilityeligibility from training to scholarships;
  • holding the label from the Ministry of Higher Education and Research.

The stated objective is to put an end to the dispersion of data, until now scattered across different tabs. From now on, to view this information, simply select a training course via the interactive map to see all the key data appear, in a compact and accessible format.

Parcoursup: simplified visualization of key data

In order to better guide candidates, Parcoursup is introducing clear visuals for 2025 to summarize sometimes complex information. In the section Understand the criteria for analyzing applicationsinfographics now explain in a simplified manner the main elements taken into account to evaluate an application file.

High school students will thus have access to the analysis reports of applications from the previous year, the analysis criteria used by the training courses and their level of importance. Some 19,000 application examination reports are already accessible on the 23,000 training courses offered on Parcoursup.

The section Key figures was renamed View training access figures. This section allows you to consult at a glanceeyeeye the number of places open the previous year, the number of applications, the number of admission proposals sent and accepted, all sortable according to the type of baccalaureate, general, technological or professional.

A simulator to estimate your chances of admission

Another new feature in this 2025 edition of Parcoursup is the possibility, for final year students, of calculating their chance of admission to a course based on their profile. By providing their two specialties followed and their general average, candidates obtain a personalized estimate.

The simulator first displays an overall probability in the form of categories: “rarely”, “occasionally”, “regularly”, “more than 50%”, “more than 80%”. Then, a more detailed analysis reveals the distribution of admissions over the last three years, detailing their averages and the most frequent doublet combinations of specialties.

More information on professional opportunities

Parcoursup is taking a major step forward for 2025 by integrating expanded data on professional integration rates and study paths. Each training course will now have a specific section dedicated to integration statistics. Until now reserved for BTS and professional licenses, this data will be extended to a wide range of training: general licenses, agricultural BTS, engineering school, business school and management school are now concerned.

Ultimately, nearly 75% of the training courses available on Parcoursup will offer this information, with the aim of strengthening transparencytransparency and support in the choice of orientation. In addition, the ministry’s statistical services will integrate new data on hiring conditions by the end of January 2025.

A redesigned calendar for better organization

To reduce uncertainty and waiting for candidates, the 2025 calendar has been rearranged. The main admission phase will start on Monday June 2, and the classification of pending wishes will be done between June 6 and 10. This reorganization aims to speed up decisions and allow as many high school students as possible to obtain a first admission offer before the start of the written baccalaureate exams.
