The Executive Committee of the Confederation of African Football (“CAF”) (“COMEX”) met today, Monday, December 16, 2024 in Marrakech, Morocco, under the chairmanship of CAF President, Dr. Patrice Motsepe .
Dr. Motsepe opened the meeting by congratulating Morocco following the decision to award the 2030 FIFA World Cup, the centenary, to a joint Morocco-Portugal-Spain bid.
The Executive Committee deliberated on the CAF competition calendar for 2025 and beyond.
Dr. Motsepe announced that the draw for the final phase of the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2025 will be held in Rabat, Morocco on January 27, 2025.
Key dates:
- TotalEnergies CAF U-17 Africa Cup of Nations, Morocco 2025: the opening match will be played on Sunday March 30, 2025; the final will be played on Saturday April 19, 2025
- TotalEnergies CAF U-20 Africa Cup of Nations, Ivory Coast 2025: the opening match will be played on Saturday, April 26, 2025; the final will take place on Sunday May 18, 2025
- TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup 2024-25: the first leg final will take place on Saturday May 17, 2025; the return final will be played on Sunday May 25, 2025
- TotalEnergies CAF Champions League 2024-25: the first leg final will take place on Saturday May 24, 2025; the return final will take place on Sunday June 1, 2025
- CAF Women’s Champions League 2025: the opening match will take place on Saturday, November 8, 2025; the final will be played on Sunday November 23, 2025
- CAF Africa Cup of Nations TotalEnergies Maroc 2025: the opening match will take place on Sunday December 21, 2025; The final will take place on Sunday January 18, 2026.
CAF President Dr Motsepe also held a meeting with all 54 CAF member associations on Monday afternoon. Together they discussed issues relating to the development of football in each country.
This includes strengthening partnerships between member associations, governments, FIFA, other confederations and the private sector.
