For this December 17, the Advent Calendar opens with a new version of Mom, I missed the plane!, to be found on Disney+. Simply named Mom, I missed the plane! (it starts again)director Dan Mazer took the liberty of making the little boy forgotten by his parents much more prankish than in the original.
It was in 1990 that Mom, I missed the plane sees the light of day for the first time. Created by Chris Colombus and directed by Macauley Culkin, the film which features a little boy forgotten by his parents while they go on vacation is a real success. With its 475 million dollars in revenue, 20th Century Fox did not hesitate to make a real saga with Mom, I missed the plane again (1992), Mom, I take care of the bad guys (1997), Mom, I am alone against everyone (2002) et Mom, the house is haunted (2012), which was thought to be the last. But Disney+ decided otherwise and almost ten years after this last opus, the house with big ears revealed Mom, I missed the plane! (it starts again).
Mom, I missed the plane! (it starts again): what is the film about?
Directed by Dan Mazer, the director decided to swap roles. The thieves are no longer the bad guys and the little boy, here named Max, is not that innocent. While his parents are leaving for Japan, they realize once on the plane that they have forgotten Max at home. If so far, the scenario resembles the original, a few twists are coming… Indeed, the two big villains of Mom, I missed the plane!are replaced here by neighbors Pam and Jeff, who find themselves having to burglarize the house of the little boy and his parents against their will. Indeed, they suspect Max of having stolen a doll that could bring them more than 200,000 dollars. A significant sum, which could well help the heavily indebted couple.
This is how they decide to break into their neighbor’s house, without knowing that a little individual full of imagination would still be there. What follows is a series of traps created by Max, trying to keep his home safe and scare away Pam and Jeff, who cling as best they can to the hope of recovering said doll.
