High school students can consult Parcoursup’s training offers for the 2025 school year from this Wednesday, December 18. The platform offers in particular to measure one’s chances of access to training by comparing oneself to the profiles of previous admitted ones.

Since 2018, it has been the obligatory step for almost all high school students who want to enter higher education training. The Parcoursup platform opens this December 18 with three “new products which aim to offer ever more adapted support to young people and their families“, says the Ministry of Education in a press release.
As of this date, high school students can consult the approximately 24,000 training offers on the platform. It is only from January 15 that they will be able to register and express their wishes until March 13.
Students can now estimate their chances of access to different training courses.

Via a new section, candidates can access an analysis grid which distributes training expectations by assigning a percentage of importance to each of the categories (academic results, working methods, “knowledge”, motivation and commitments and activities).
A second functionality now allows you to estimate your chances of admission by comparing the profiles of previous admits from the last three years (choice of high school course, academic level) with your own.
The second added feature remains practical. The training courses now have a “identity card” which brings together their information on a single sheet (status of the establishment, the selective nature of the training, the number of places, the holding of the ministerial label and eligibility for scholarships).
In previous years, information on career opportunities was limited to BTS and professional sectors. In 2025, nearly 75% of training courses will offer details on integration at the end of the study. Parcoursup reports that new data concerning hiring conditions will be available by January 2025.
After the end of the wish formulation phase (March 13), candidates will have to wait until June 2 to receive the first admission results.
The wish classification phase will begin earlier than usual (between June 6 and 10) in order to “allow a maximum of high school students to receive at least one admission offer before the baccalaureate exams“.
As a reminder, more than 85,000 candidates had not yet received proposals after the baccalaureate results in 2024. A figure estimated at 73,000 in 2023.
The system which guarantees the future of nearly a million high school students each year is regularly singled out by candidates. On December 12, nearly 150 French high schools were blocked following the call for protest from the High School Union which is still demanding the elimination of Parcoursup.
The opacity surrounding the algorithms responsible for the selection of profiles has been at the heart of criticism since the creation of the platform. In a report dated 2020, the Court of Auditors estimated the ranking of candidates “not very transparent” et “sometimes questionable.
