Three days after the murder of five peoplenear , on December 14, the 22-year-old suspect was indicted this Tuesday for the assassination of his 29-year-old ex-employer, in front of his home in Wormhout, as well as for that of two security guards, aged 33 and 37, who were on a patrol in the port area, at Loon-Plage. According to the public prosecutor of Dunkirk, Charlotte Huet, who gave a press conference, the young man is also indicted for murder, “preceded, accompanied or followed” of another crime concerning two migrants of Iranian origin, aged 20 and 28, then shot dead near the Loon-Plage camp.

The young man, originally from the North, is also being prosecuted for “acquisition, possession, carrying and transport of category A and B weapons and ammunition.Five weapons were found in total in the suspect’s car, and twelve others at his home. The main weapon used that afternoon was a “44 caliber rifle”, according to the prosecution.

An “unemployed” man, never convicted

In addition to the five deaths, the suspect is also being prosecuted for “violence with a weapon”. He pointed his gun at a father and son who were driving past him. Facts which occurred after the assassination of the security agents, and concomitantly with the murder of the migrants, said the prosecutor.

The suspect is “unemployed and living with his parents. He has never been convicted, nor even summoned before the judicial authority for criminal offenses“, added Charlotte Huet. “He has a sports shooting license and practiced this discipline in a club in the region.

“No particular disputes”

Regarding the motive, no statement from the prosecution for now. “It can simply be confirmed that the accused admitted the five murders with which he is accused, as well as the offenses relating to weapons legislation. I also point out that he confirmed that he acted alone.

The prosecutor also confirms that “the first person who was killed was the last employer of the accused, the victim had fired the accused at the beginning of October. Likewise, the accused had worked six months for the company which employed the security agents who were killed near the Canal des Dunes. The respondent does not mention any particular disputes with these two victims. Concerning the acts of murder against the two men of Iranian nationality, the accused confirms his homicidal intention. Tributes planned in the coming days

The investigating judge is now seized of this quintuple homicide and the prosecution requested pre-trial detention of the suspect, who is presented before the judge of freedoms and detention. For assassinations or murders, “the penalty incurred is life imprisonment.“, says Charlotte Huet.

Since Saturday, tributes have multiplied on social networks. Monday evening, at the call of the Ultras Dunkerquois, 200 people participated in a march in tribute to one of the two security agents killed, on the sidelines of a football match in Dunkirk. This Wednesday, a white march is organized at 2 p.m. by the families and colleagues of the two security agents. It will leave from the Loon-Plage motocross parking lot, route de Mardyck.
