The line is at a standstill due to “a fault with the new autopilot” this Tuesday, December 17.
A complicated morning for users of line 1 of the Lille metro. Ilévia communicates this Tuesday, December 17 on the shutdown of the line “due to a fault on the new automatic pilot” between Villeneuve d'Ascq Hôtel de Ville and CHU Eurasanté.
Stopped since 8 a.m. this morning, traffic is interrupted on a very large part of the line until at least 10:30 a.m., while Ilévia first announced a return to normal around 9:45 a.m.
The company ensures that relay buses are put in place. But “the relay bus route is impacted by several deviations”.
Inconveniences, slowdowns, saturations…
In recent days, users have been fed up. For several months, they have suffered numerous inconveniences during their daily journeys on the Ilévia network. This Thursday, December 12, the Union of Northern Travelers (UVN) evokes an “intolerable situation” in a press release.
The situation has gotten worse in recent weeks, after the implementation of the new automatic piloting system on line 1. The latter “arrives 10 years late”, declares Mathieu Girard.
“For four weeks we have noted inconveniences, interruptions, slowdowns which are truly terrible for users, with very frequent saturations,” he continues at the microphone of BFM Grand Lille.
On October 15, Ilévia announced a return to “almost normal” on its metro network, after numerous incidents which had caused delays and saturation of trains. The situation had forced the transport authority to offer a subscription to its bicycle service to many users.
