The AP All-American teams have been announced and the Michigan Wolverines are well-represented. Let’s take a look at who received recognition for their outstanding seasons:

First-team: DT Mason Graham

Graham was an absolute monster once again for the Michigan defensive line, constantly wrecking opposing run games and eating up double teams.

He finished the 2024 campaign with 45 total tackles, 7 tackles for loss and 3.5 sacks.

The future first-round pick was named a Nagurski Trophy finalist (best defensive player) and an Outland Trophy finalist (best interior lineman, offense or defense).

Graham is also the first Michigan defensive tackle to earn first-team All-American honors since Maurice Hurst in 2017.

Second-team: K Dominic Zvada

Zvada — who was robbed of a Lou Groza Award nomination — was a major weapon for the Wolverines’ offense in 2024.

He converted 25 of his 26 extra point attempts and missed just one of his 18 field goal attempts. The lone botch? A 28-yarder that was blocked by an Illinois lineman.

Zvada also went an astonishing 7-7 from beyond 50 yards, smashing the previous program record of four 50+ yarders in a season.

He’s the only returning All-American for the Wolverines and figures to play a big role once again in 2025.

Third-team: DT Kenneth Grant

Grant may have played second-fiddle to Graham, but the AP voters were smart to award him for another fantastic season.

The 339-pounder was a key cog at the front of the defense, registering 32 tackles, 7 tackles for loss, and 3.0 sacks.

Third-team: CB Will Johnson

Johnson has been arguably the best cornerback in the nation the past couple of years, but a turf-toe injury limited him to only six games this year.

In that time, he still managed to snag two interceptions, returning both for touchdowns. Had Johnson stayed healthy, he likely would have ended up on the first team.
