A viral phenomenon frequently emerges on television in the form of a television series that everyone talks about. After premiering on Netflix recently, it didn’t take long to become number 1 on the platform’s most watched list, and with only four episodes, ‘The Palm’ It’s already on everyone’s lips.
Despite being set in -obviously- La Palma, and also in Tenerife, This miniseries is a Norwegian production.and narrates the misfortune of a family from the Nordic country on the islands, faced with an imminent volcanic eruption predicted by a Spanish researcher. The cast includes Norwegian performers, so they are not excessively popular in our country: Anders Baasmo, Ingrid Bolsø Berdal, Alma Günther) and Bernard Storm Lager.
What is ‘La Palma’ about?
‘La Palma’ stands out for an absolutely spectacular visual recreation of this natural catastrophe, with remarkable effects both to capture the columns of smoke and the rivers of lavawhich unfortunately the inhabitants of the Canarian town really had to suffer 3 years ago. Then, the eruption lasted for no less than 85 days, causing devastating effects on a personal and material level.
For this reason, precisely the series also emphasizes the personal drama that this Norwegian family is experiencing, and transmits to the viewer the feeling of desolation during the four episodes that it lasts, being a production that can be seen in an afternoon as each one of them has a duration between 45 and 50 minutes. ‘La Palma’ is available on Netflix since last December 12and is established as the last great success of the platform in 2024 before the premiere of the second season of ‘The Squid Game’.
