A spectacular gala match featuring the legends of African Football took place on Monday at the El Harti Stadium in Marrakech, in conjunction with the 2024 CAF Awards.
Among the participants were players of the Moroccan national team who took part in the 1986 and 1998 World Cups, as well as the 2004 Africa Cup of Nations, together with the coach of the women’s national team, Jorge Vilda, and prominent stars such as Khalilou Fadiga from Senegal, Mohamed Zidan from Egypt and the Moroccans Tarik Sektioui and Nabil Baha.
At the end of the match, Senegalese legend El-Hadji Diouf underlined that Morocco, under the enlightened leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, possesses all the resources and offers the conditions necessary to successfully host major sporting events.
The Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) remains committed to the development of African football, the former Liverpool striker highlighted in a press statement. He expressed confidence that the 2030 World Cup, which will be co-hosted by the Kingdom together with Spain and Portugal, will be an exceptional success.

Mohamed Zidan noted that previous CAF Awards ceremonies held in Morocco had been a tremendous success, adding that this year’s competition for the awards recognizing the excellence of African football is “intense and exciting”.
Meanwhile, Moroccan football pearl Ahmed Bahja said that the Kingdom has always managed to organize high-level sporting events. He said the Kingdom possesses all the necessary resources and advantages to ensure the success of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations and the 2030 World Cup.
Morocco
