Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola speaking to Sky Sports: “The main part that interests me is that we are creating chances and as long as we do this, we trust the players we have up front and we will all be fine.”

On their progress: “I don’t trust a lot in the long-term goals. I think it is quite early still in the first part of the season. I think we have a good amount of points but everything is very tight, things can change now and in the Christmas period, in two or three weeks.

“We have to continue competing well, continue taking game by game and trying to win points against West Ham. If we cannot win three just one but we will try always to go for the win.”

On the balance between keeping possession and being direct when needed: “For me I think I value a lot of possession but it has to be meaningful possession. I think we have to have the mentality of have the ball to attack, sometimes it is good when you are winning to rest a little bit on the ball but I think there are things in our game we will need to improve.

“I think our identity is to try and play as high as we can, the fastest pace as we can and we feel more comfortable in this kind of scenarios.”

On winning games late on: “I think it’s mandatory in the way we play we need fresh legs in the second half because we want to keep the same intensity all the game so we need everyone to help us. I think we have now a big challenge because we’ve had lately four or five important injuries for us and we want to keep the same level, same intensity of the players at the start, they want to finish the game and I hope they can do it.”
