“We are the first to achieve this, this club is the biggest,” celebrates Álvaro Fidalgo.
“Club América is enormous.” He is a true idol among the América fans and one of the key figures in the historic triplet achieved by the Mexican team. Álvaro Fidalgo (Hevia, Siero, 1997) raised the third consecutive championship of Club América early on Monday. No team in the history of short tournaments (Apertura and Clausura) has managed to do so. This trophy brings the Eagles’ league title count to 16, making them the most decorated club in Mexico. Fidalgo, who came up through the youth ranks of Oviedo and Sporting before completing his training at Real Madrid’s academy, arrived in Mexico City in 2021 to become a reference point for his team and in the Mexican competition.
“We are the first in the history of short tournaments to do this, considering how difficult it is to navigate the playoffs, with the monsters we have in our coaching staff, doctors… The biggest club in the country, in history, is now even bigger,” celebrated Álvaro Fidalgo, nicknamed “el Maguito” in Mexico, for the quality boost he has brought to América.

Club América triumphed in the final against Rayados, where two other Spanish players, Ólver Torres and Sergio Canales, are part of the squad. “My respects to both for showcasing their level, raising the league’s standard, and how they competed to reach the finals. I spoke with them beforehand, much encouragement, two great players with significant careers in Europe,” remarked Álvaro Fidalgo. Rumors about the Asturian’s future are circulating again, hinting at a possible return to European football. He has never hidden his desire to don the red-and-white colors again and experience playing at El Molinón as a Sporting player.
