This Sunday, the French women's biathlon team finished second in the Hochfilzen relay, behind Germany and ahead of Sweden.

The French team will be satisfied with it. This Sunday, the French biathletes finished in second place in the Hochfilzen relay in Austria, as part of the World Cup. Germany won, while Sweden finished in third place. However, everything started very well for the Blues. First to start, Julia Simon immediately took control of this race. A position retained after his first shot, thanks to a flawless performance. At the end of his second pass on the shooting range, Simon was still in the lead, but without margin, after having drawn twice. Justine Braisaz-Bouchet, who succeeded him, saw the pack come back after his first shot, during which the Habs were forced to draw twice. After two new picks, to finish, Braisaz-Bouchet came out in second position, in contact with Germany. The two nations were still neck and neck when the third runners set off.

Jeanmonnot broke down

For the Blues, it was Sophie Chauveau who left. The Frenchwoman achieved a flawless shooting, to start, and kept the pace, against her competitor, despite her two picks to finish her relay. Finally, Lou Jeanmonnot left to conclude this race. Only eight seconds separated her from her first pursuer, to begin with, namely the German Franziska Preuss. After two draws, following its first passage on the shooting range, the Tricolore was less than ten seconds behind Preuss, when it was time to leave. This gap increased considerably, at the time of his final shot during which Lou Jeanmonnot had to draw three more times but above all take a penalty round. At the finish, therefore ranked second, as during the first relay of the season, more than a minute behind Germany.
