The new Miss France is called Angélique Angarni-Filopon. Miss Martinique was elected Saturday evening at Futuroscope in Poitiers. Who is the young woman who becomes, at 34, the oldest Miss in the history of the competition?
Miss France 2025 is… Miss Martinique! It was shortly before 1 a.m. this Saturday evening that the beauty queen was elected at Arena Futuroscope in Poitiers. The result was announced by the president of the jury Sylvie Vartan. Angélique Angarni-Filopon made the last five candidates in the running with Miss Nord-Pas-de-Calais, Miss Corsica, Miss Guadeloupe and Miss Côte d'Azur.
La Dépêche du Midi invites you to get to know the young woman better.
1 – A 34 year old Miss
Angélique Angarni-Filopon is 34 years old. An age that she did not hesitate to highlight in her video portrait or on stage when the candidates had the floor, wanting to represent “all the women who were told one day that it was too late “. This is the first time that a Miss of this age has been elected. Until two years ago, the age limit for a Miss France was 34 years old. The age criteria in particular were broadened 2 years ago.
2 – A Miss with short hair
After Eve Gilles, Miss France 2024, it is once again a candidate with short hair who was elected. What to launch a new fashion? For many years, Miss France had long hair.
3 – A flight attendant
Angélique Angarni-Filopon works as a flight attendant. She is a cabin crew member for Corsair. She had previously flown for Air Caraibes. She began her career at Air France as a sales advisor. The young woman is 1.83 m tall.
4 – A Miss who grew up in Val-d’Oise
Angélique Angarni-Filopon is proud to represent the colors of her island. Born in the North Caribbean (Fonds Saint-Denis and Morne-Vert), it was not, however, in Martinique that she grew up. She spent her childhood in metropolitan France in the Paris region. She lived in Val-d'Oise.
5 – A former Miss
Angélique Angarni-Filopon presented herself for the first time to Miss France 13 years ago. She finished first runner-up in the Miss Martinique competition in 2011. When the age criteria were widened, she decided to try her luck again with more self-confidence.
6 – Committed to breast cancer
Miss Martinique's mother had breast cancer which she beat 2 years ago thanks to early detection. Angélique Angarni-Filopon has decided to get involved in this cause. “I want to help these women regain self-confidence, through makeup and skin care. This project is everything to me, and if you knew to what extent this project makes me so angry I “I want to defend him”, she recently declared to La 1ère.
7 – A maniacal Miss
The young woman is manic. She admits to cleaning everything two or three times. There is no doubt that during her reign, Miss France will be surrounded and will no longer need to clean up everything around her.
8 – She hates salmon
During her reign, a Miss France participates in numerous trips, inaugurations or regional elections. At the table, you should not offer him salmon. Angélique Angarni-Filopon hates it!
9 – She dreamed of Miss France since childhood
Like many candidates, becoming Miss France is a little girl's dream for Angélique Angarni-Filopon. “As a child, Angélique was passionate about this world of Misses. She always said that one day, she would wear a crown,” her mother, Viviane, recently confided to France Antilles.
10 – A first for Martinique
Guadeloupe, Reunion, Guyana and Tahiti have already had several Miss France. Martinique never. No Miss Martinique had been elected since the creation of the competition in 1920. It was done with Angélique Angarni-Filopon.
The new beauty queen will therefore in turn experience a whirlwind for 1 year. The Miss France committee will pay her a salary and accommodate her free of charge in a staff apartment in Paris, near the Arc de Triomphe. The young woman will logically put her job as a flight attendant aside for 1 year. Eve Gilles, whom she succeeded, will become a candidate for “Dancing with the Stars” on TF1 in a few weeks.
