Arsenal dropped yet more points in the Premier League as they were held to a 0-0 draw by Everton at the Emirates Stadium.

The Gunners were eager to get back to winning ways in the Premier League after drawing with Fulham last time out.

Arsenal went into the Everton game on the back of a 3-0 Champions League win over Monaco, during which Myles Lewis-Skelly impressed for the Gunners.

Mikel Arteta opted to give the 18-year-old another start at left-back and he once again did very well for the North Londoners.

However, it wasn’t a great performance as a whole from Arsenal, who simply could not break down a resolute Toffees defence.

In the end, the Gunners had to make do with a point as they missed out on a chance to close the gap on leaders Liverpool.

Plenty of Arsenal fans were commenting on Lewis-Skelly as he made his first Premier League start for the Gunners.

Arsenal fan reaction to Lewis-Skelly’s performance was overwhelmingly positive as they acknowledged how good he looks at this level at such a young age.

One fan wrote on X: “Lewis-Skelly is so comfortable man. Even Saka was not this good on his full Premier League debut.”

Another posted: “Lewis-Skelly understands tempo and that bit of delay that leads to unbalancing the opponent.”

One supporter suggested the Hale End graduate was one of few positives on the day.

“Arsenal about as boring as the DMV, watching paint dry more exciting, lethargic stuff,” wrote the fan.

“Only Lewis-Skelly, fresh out the academy, wanted to pick a pass, rest of them worried about pass completion percentage.”

Some fans then questioned Arteta’s decision to substitute Lewis-Skelly midway through the second half.

“Myles Lewis-Skelly is having a great game, there’s no need to sub him,” wrote one supporter. “Timber should stay at right-back.”

Another wrote: “Oh, he’s taking Lewis-Skelly off, Arteta couldn’t last five minutes without doing something stupid again.”

Football.london awarded Lewis-Skelly a rating of 8 out of 10 for his efforts against Sean Dyche’s Toffees.

“A superb display on his first Premier League start,” they wrote. “One of the few bright lights in a low quality first half.

“His tendency to pop up all over the park brought back memories of Zinchenko in his pomp.”

Meanwhile, the Evening Standard gave him a 7 out of 10 and wrote: “Started for the second game in a row and did well.

“Looks so calm on the ball for someone who is only 18. A star in the making.”

Finally, The Express gave Lewis-Skelly a 6 out of 10 and wrote: “Another impressive outing on a full Premier League debut for Lewis-Skelly.

“The 18-year-old looks comfortable among several big-name stars.”
