Through a video published on the internet, Thierno Bocoum stepped up to criticize the recent decisions on the part of the State moving in the direction of removing Barthélémy Dias from his elective positions. According to him, this is a diktat, especially since the Constitutional Council itself had validated his participation in the legislative elections. This earned him the opportunity to be elected deputy to the National Assembly. To believe it, if today an administrative authority stands up to say the opposite, this poses a serious problem. According to Thierno Bocoum, Barthélémy Dias is a mayor who was elected by the people (direct suffrage). And so, he says, no one can link their position as mayor to their position as municipal councilor. And to add that the Minister of Justice should also write a second letter so that Ousmane Sonko is removed and let the indictment chamber of the Dakar Court of Appeal judge the disputes relating to the application of this law amnesty, under the conditions provided for by article 735 of the Code of Criminal Procedure. “It is up to Ousmane Sonko to seize this chamber. Ousmane Sonko wants to take advantage of his state of grace to try to eliminate his political opponents. We will cope,” he declared.
