Albuquerque, NM – Central and northeast New Mexico are under a wind advisory today from noon to 4 p.m., with gusts up to 50 mph expected. Strong crosswinds will create dangerous driving conditions along major routes, including US-285 and US-54. Drivers of high-profile vehicles, such as trucks and RVs, are especially urged to exercise caution or delay travel if possible.

According to the National Weather Service, the strongest winds will occur in open areas, where visibility may also be reduced by blowing dust. These conditions are expected to ease by late afternoon, making travel safer. Residents and travelers should stay informed through local updates and plan accordingly.

Looking ahead, a warming trend will bring pleasant weather for the weekend. Albuquerque will see sunny skies with a high of 55°F on Saturday, climbing to 58°F by Sunday. Temperatures are set to remain above average through Monday before a slight cool-down midweek, with highs returning to the low 50s.

The extended forecast predicts clear, calm conditions into early next week, making it an ideal time for outdoor activities after today’s gusty winds subside.
