In March 2024, Roch Voisine should have started his major tour which was to take him from Canada to Europe, including concerts in France. Unfortunately, the Quebec singer had to postpone all the dates due to health problems. This Friday, November 13, he reveals more about what happened to him in an interview with Closer. “I caught a virus, streptococcus”he explains before specifying: “The eardrum was punctured, the pain was severe, I could no longer hear anything. The treatment with antibiotics for a month and a half did not work.”
The problems then followed one another for the interpreter of Helene who reveals that he had to have surgery in the hope of being able to hear again. “The doctors discovered a complication and had to intervene in the skull. A heavy intervention”he adds, which left him with after-effects: “I haven't recovered my hearing 100%. There’s little chance I’ll ever find her again.” But his fans can rest assured, Roch Voisine has found solutions to get back on stage thanks to earpieces which allow him “to continue perfectly [son] job”. However, certain aspects of his personal and professional life are impacted because of this infection. In the interview, the father of three says that “it’s very hard” : “At home, if I want to listen to a symphony orchestra, for example, it's hellish, I can no longer have this pleasure. In the studio either: I produced or co-produced my 30 albums, I could no longer do it today.”

Roch Voisine resumes his tour in Europe
Despite his hearing concerns, Roch Voisine has resumed concerts with a vengeance. After shows in Canada from February 28, Marie-Eve Racine's companion will stir up European crowds. From Switzerland to Belgium via France, he will perform in Paris on April 8, 2025.
