In an interview with Nathalie Renoux for “12.45” on M6, Michel Sardou discusses the current situation in France. According to him, the inability to unite is a trend that goes back far in the country's history.
Michel Sardou did not mince his words on the political situation that France is currently going through. During an interview given to Nathalie Renoux and broadcast on Friday December 13 on M6's 12.45, the 77-year-old singer declared in particular that if he were to write a song about the situation in the country, “she wouldn’t be tender”. “I'm a little lost, I don't know what I would write. I might like the messy side.”he clarified.
He also compared the current situation — particularly for young people — with the one he himself experienced when he was younger: “France today…, I preferred mine, underlines the artist. As always, we always prefer our youth. When we say 'it was better before', that's bullshit. It was our youth that was better before,” explained the French singer.
Michel Sardou refers to the unprecedented political situation the country is currently going through. Since the dissolution of the National Assembly by Emmanuel Macron, political instability has reigned. The Barnier government's censorship shows that this has not improved since last June.
“Yes, ultimately it’s good for his face”
“We wanted that, but we've been like that since Julius Caesar. If he returned to Gaul so easily, it was because the Gauls could not peck each other. So, what do we have today? We don't have Caesar…”explains Michel Sardou, smiling. “Yes, ultimately it’s good for his face”he decides.
