AC Milan welcomed three strikers into their Hall of Fame last night: Marco van Basten, Andriy Shevchenko and Filippo Inzaghi.
As the official website confirms, the trio were selected through a global fan vote and have been recognised for their extraordinary contributions to the club’s history and the values they represent both on and off the pitch.
They join Milan’s honorary vice president Franco Baresi, the Hall of Fame’s inaugural inductee. Each striker has played a pivotal role in shaping the Rossoneri legacy, representing a golden era of triumphs and unforgettable moments.
Van Basten, Inzaghi, and Baresi will be celebrated in a special ceremony at the San Siro ahead of the Milan’s game against Genoa on Sunday, which is the match designated for the club’s 125th anniversary celebrations. Each inductee will also receive a bespoke trophy crafted by Tiffany & Co.
Shevchenko will not be able to attend the ceremony due to personal commitments but will be honoured on the pitch of the San Siro stadium at a later date.
“Following a meticulous fan-driven voting process, van Basten, Shevchenko, and Inzaghi emerged as the first strikers to receive this prestigious honour, embodying the passion, excellence, and commitment that define AC Milan,” the statement adds.
