New mobilization on the social front this Thursday, December 12. After the day of strike and demonstration in the public service last weekseveral unions (CGT, Solidaires, FSU…) are calling for “actions across the entire territory to defend employment and industry”. Faced with the 300 social plans that currently exist in France, according to the CGT which mentions 300,000 jobs threatened or eliminated in many sectorsfrom metallurgy to public service. It is in this context thatin Annecy-le-Vieux, the 136 employees of the Pupilles de l'enseignement public (Pep 73-74) association are called to walk out in the morning from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. in front of the Henri Wallon medical-educational institute (IME). 200 children and young adults (from 6 years old to 24 years old) with disabilities are welcomed there every day.

With insufficient means, because the subsidies from which the association benefits do not take into account inflation, denounces Patricia Vacher, psychologist in this IME and Force Ouvrière union representative of the institution. “The consequence is that human resources, and therefore personnel in institutions, are decreasing. This means increasingly difficult working conditions, salaries which are not indexed to inflation, a loss attractiveness of the profession, and fewer and fewer recruitment possibilities”explains Patricia Vacher.
“Young people need a regular rhythm”
A situation which has concrete consequences on the daily work of teamsbut also for young people followed: “We do a lot more group support because it is more profitable. There are workshops that we have had to eliminate, and now the teams have to juggle, self-replace when a person is missing to reorganize the schedule of all young people. So it also destabilizes these young people who need a regular rhythm.”
