As Bashar al-Assad fled Syria and the Islamist rebel coalition took power, the population looted the garages and private house of the former Syrian President.

These are images that will stay for a long time. While Russia claims that Bashar al-Assad has resigned from his post and is in Moscow with his relatives, images broadcast on the social network X show the luxurious lifestyle of the former Syrian President.

In this video published by the news site L'Orient-Le Jour, we see many Syrians strolling in the corridors of Bashar al-Assad's house in central Damascus.

Some do not hesitate to go out with their hands full, plundering what remains of the half-century of rule of the Baathist regime. Portraits of Hafez al-Assad, father of Bashar and former Syrian President, are trampled on. The dishes and furniture are stolen.
