OTHER – OTHER Coach David Hubert was not satisfied with the result of the match against Leuven. He noted that the team started the match with the right mentality, which resulted in a great chance for Dolberg. “He has scored a lot in recent weeks, but we should not take that for granted,” Hubert said.
Hubert noted that his players gradually lost control and did not make the right decisions. After the first chances, the intensity dropped. “We made wrong choices and that led to inaccuracy,” he said.
Despite these shortcomings, he praised his team’s mentality, but indicated that execution needs to improve. “But it’s understandable, given the tough playing schedule and the effort against Porto.”
One positive aspect was that the defense did not score a goal for the fourth time in a row in the league. Hubert also emphasized that the team is now better able to set up quick counterattacks. “My philosophy is that we have to operate as a unit; my goalkeeper is the first attacker and my attacker is the first defender,” he concluded.
