“Completely false”, PSG denies rumors of a sale of the club by Qatar

A representative of QSI vigorously denied this Wednesday the elements published in the French press surrounding a desire by the Emir of Qatar to sell Saint-Germain.

I'm there, I'm staying there. Contrary to information published this Wednesday in the newspaper L'Equipe, Qatar has no intention of selling PSG. Despite rumors of a disengagement, the desire of the Emirati owner remains the same: to continue the development of the Ile-de- club. Via a press release relayed by British journalist Ben Jacobs, a spokesperson for Qatar Sports Investments (QSI) was very clear on the Gulf country's intentions with the current leader of Ligue 1.

“This is completely false,” said the QSI representative. “The same newspaper writes the same bullshit week after week.”

“They plan to invest hundreds of millions in a new stadium”

There is therefore no question of selling PSG despite the current problems in the Champions League or the difficulties encountered around the purchase of the Parc des Princes or the construction of a new stadium. And it is not the arrival of Arctos Partners within the club's capital that will change things. On the contrary, Qatar ensures that it continues to make a long-term commitment to Paris and continues to invest there.

“The shareholders have just spent 350 million euros on , with other major extensions to the Campus which have just been announced,” continued the QSI spokesperson to the British journalist. “They are planning to invest hundreds of millions in a new stadium, while increasing our investments in football, sports and entertainment, but apparently we are looking to sell.”
